There’s a shift in our lives that happens around 50 that astrology has a name for: the Chiron return.

The Chiron return arrives right on schedule around age 50-51, although we can begin to feel its approach as early as our mid-40s.

When Chiron comes full circle at 50, we do what the centaur’s half-man, half-animal body itself suggests: we integrate the seemingly incompatible parts of ourselves into a whole.

Around the Chiron return, many people find that dormant creative, spiritual, or healing gifts begin to awaken.

Sometimes this awakening doesn't feel like a gift at first. It comes through restlessness, longing, grief, or the uncomfortable feeling that the life we built no longer has enough room for who we are becoming.

Other times, it's less dramatic. We wake up one day and think: "Of course this is who I am". And we can no longer bear the cost of not living accordingly.
