Aspects and Aspect Patterns is Astro Butterfly's 1-year program designed to fix common interpretive shortcuts and teach you how aspects and patterns actually organize a chart.

This is a structured, month-by-month program that teaches you how to think about aspects and aspect patterns and bring the disparate elements of the chart into a coherent, integrated meaning.

Aspects and Aspect Patterns is a 1-year-long program because mastering this important pillar takes time. We slow the process down deliberately. One aspect or configuration per month - with real examples, application, and context.

The goal is not more information, but a different way of seeing charts.

By the end of the 1-year program, you will understand how your chart works as a system - not as isolated parts - and recognize core dynamics in any chart you read.

With clear foundational logic, structure, and application, Aspects And Aspect Patterns shows you how aspects are worked with in practice - step by step, from single relationships to full chart dynamics.

A different way of working with aspects

In "Aspects and Aspect Patterns", we work with aspects as relationships, not labels.
That means learning how they function, interact, and organize a chart.

Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to:

Understand aspects through geometry, astronomy, numerology, and astrology - so you know why they work the way they do, not just what they’re called
Clearly distinguish oppositions from squares, and trines from sextiles, moving beyond “hard” and “soft” shortcuts
Use a structured aspect interpretation framework, instead of keyword salad
Interpret multiple aspects together and understand how they modify each other
(for example, how a Venus–Jupiter square changes when Venus is also trine Saturn)
Compare aspects side by side with concrete examples, e.g. (Venus trine Jupiter vs Venus square Jupiter; Venus–Jupiter vs Mars–Jupiter etc.)
Determine aspect hierarchy: which aspects matter most in a chart, and why

Questions & Answers

Q: What does the "Aspects and Aspect Patterns" program include?

A: The program includes training materials, monthly live calls, monthly workshops, deep-dive webinars, reflections, exercises, and forum discussions. All calls are recorded. Each month includes 4 core curriculum activities. You can participate in all activities or focus on the ones that are most relevant to you.

Q: When does it start, and when does it end?

A: The program starts on March 3rd, 2026, and ends on February 28th, 2027. The monthly webinars are offered in the first week of the month (weekdays), and the practice workshops are on Fridays, in the last week of each month. The calls are offered twice, to accommodate different time zones, and recordings are provided.

Q: How much time can I expect to spend?

A: We recommend setting aside at least 4–6 hours per month for the core activities. If you choose to participate in additional activities, allow for a few extra hours. Most students spend an average of 8–10 hours per month.

Q: What are the program requirements?

A: You should have a foundational understanding of planets, signs, and houses.

Q: How long do I have access to the program materials?

A: All training materials and call recordings are available with unlimited access. Complimentary access to the Age Of Aquarius community (where discussions and exercises take place) runs until the end of the program in February 2027. You will have the option to extend community access if you wish, and there is no automatic recurring payment.
